Preparing a CSV file for Import into DaknoAdmin

Have contacts you'd like to import from another system? You can easily import them into DaknoAdmin once the file has been formatted.

Get Started:

It is best for contacts to have a corresponding email address or phone number.

DaknoAdmin Contacts are designated by email address or phone number.

Note:

2 Contacts can not have the same email address or phone number.

Tip: Use the Quick Notes section to note any spouse or significant other’s contact information.

If a contact does not have a corresponding email address or phone number and an additional import is added with additional data for that contact, the system will not recognize the contact and a new contact will be created.

If a CSV file has more than one contact with the same email address or phone number the contacts information will be merged and the name of one of the contacts will be overwritten.

For best results when adding Contacts to DaknoAdmin, remove any duplicate email addresses and phone numbers.

Tags may only include the following characters: a-Z, 0-9, spaces, dashes (-), and underscores (_).

Preparing your CSV:

  • Remove contacts or fields with duplicate email addresses or phone numbers.
  • Review the rows on your CSV file to ensure that the contacts email address and/or phone number is included on each row associated with that contacts data, so that duplicate contacts are not created. Many CRM's export contacts data on multiple rows but don't include emails/phone numbers on every row. They must be included to import the data to the correct contact.
  • Remove any characters from tags that are not accepted.
  • Separate data into accepted column fields (see accepted column fields below).
  • If you have fields that are not accepted in DaknoAdmin, they can be combined into a Note column, or the Quick Note column. (Notes are added to the Contacts Activity tab, Quick Notes can be viewed from the Contacts Dashboard)
